Two Country Vibe Kitchens

Aren't these two kitchens sweet and romantic? Straight out a country farm house. The first one is a little more country than I personally would like. But all of those buckets of hydrangeas are just gorgeous. And I really like the flooring in that kitchen.
The second one though I really like. I love that farm style sink with the hints of pink. It has a feminine vibe that is clean. I am a big fan.

Love this Patterned Sofa

Love this navy and white printed sofa. love it love it love it! I always have a fear with prints that I am going to get sick of whatever I pick, but this I just adore. So neat and different. Also lovin those throw pillows too.

A Ruthie Somers Breakfast Room.

I don't know if I could actually do this for my own living space, but I saw this picture of the breakfast room designed by Ruthie Somers and it made me do a double take, so I knew it would be worth blogging about. It is a pretty interesting room with the black and white walls and the all different candy-colored chairs. The chairs itself are beautiful, and the colors are so happy. It just made me look and examine it a little more. My absolute favorite thing though about it is the chinios-bamboo style chandelier in high-gloss white. Now, that I love!

Loungin' Around

I would love to lounge in one of these spots with a large stack of magazines, some coffee, and my itunes. It would be a total random mix of Sublime, Jay-z, Pepper, Jack Johnson, Lykkie Lie, Beyonce, Lil Wayne, and the some old school 80s.... like Jefferson Airplane or Journey. Love the wall paper and that gold lamp!

DVF - I HEART YOU!

Dear Diane,

Good Work!!!

A Great Looking Kitchen.

This is a neat kitchen. It's easy, its clean, but it has a punch of fun without being overwhelming or cheesy. I love that the owner of this space chose a risky print, even thought when you look at it here, it comes off as super classic and casual. The cabinets in white are so clean too. Also - love the punch of yellow for the bar stools and the offset of the wood chopping block for the center island. Very cool.

Lime Green!

This is such a fun and perky bedroom. How could you possibly be in a bad mood sleeping in this room?!?

A Rita Konig Designed Room

This living room is designed by Rita Konig. I love how its so sophisticated yet youthful and fun. Not stuff at all. Love the use of the Moroccan Wedding Blanket for the rug, and the casual-ness of the succulents. Also great usage of purple and turquoise.

Artist Crush - Jason Rohlf

Growing up I was always drawn to Impressionist painters: Monet, Manet, Renoir.... My dream in the 3rd grade was to go to Giverny and see Monet's lily pads and his beautiful foot bridge. I then went to the South of France with my sister several years ago and we went to the Chagal museum and I fell in love with his use of color. And now I have found a new art love, its a tad different from my normal liking - but it just speaks to me, I guess. These two paintings below are by Brooklyn painter, Jason Rohlf. His strengths are in his abstract, geometrical and vibrant color works. They are just stunning and I am a big fan.

Holiday Wreaths

I am not a huge fan of the typical green wreath with the big red bow, I mean... yeah - it's nice and all, but its not special or original. Also, I'm Jewish. My mom never put a wreath on our door. Its just not something we did, but these two examples I absolutely love because they still have that holiday feel but in a more organic and green sort of way. Above is a wreath made from all Eucalyptus leaves.
And this wreath reminds me of a beautiful birds nest. i love the twigs sticking out and the different shades of color.

Colored Glass

My mom has the Villeroy & Boch "Boston" glasses (she actually has them in the amber/gold color - but I couldn't find a good image). So, today while I bummed around outside at a flea market, I couldn't help but notice all the sets of vintage colored glass serving pieces, goblets, and tumblers. They are all so beautiful they remind me of jewels. Image above is the "Boston" style from Villeroy & Boch.

These purple ones were my favorite, I can only imagine what the entire set looked like. Couldn't you imagine it paired with gorgeous white dishes with gold rims?

Crystal Sconces - Beautiful!

Excuse the ghetto photography (definitely not my forte).... Saw these sconces and loved how sweet and charming and romantic they are!

A Neat Accent Chair

Pretty neat accent chair and sitting spot.
1. Love the tufting and nail head details, as well as the actual shape of the chair.
2. The Madeleine Weinreb rug is pretty fantastic.
3. Love the pop of red with the garden stool.
4. The pharmacy lamp adds an element of antique-y, making it stand out even more, since its not on the funky page.
5. The black bench with the striped pillow
6. The dark wood floors arae beautiful.

Lovely.

If I were snowed in....

If I were snowed in (like most of New York, I would watch the Twilight DVD and cuddle up with this blanket and the Yedi tea for one (but fill it up with hot chocolate!)

Vintage Clip-On Earrings

Well, I rarely talk about my life on my blog - its more of just a journal for me of the things I like.... Anyway, I recently started a new job, its actually a dream job and I love what I am doing - but I must say, its hard and demanding and by the end of the day I am absolutely exhausted. So, with that being said - today I decided that I would do my absolute favorite thing. Go thrift shopping in Long Beach. It is my favorite alone time activity. I space out, think about absolutely nothing, and don't answer my phone or check my BBM or texts. I zone out. It's amazing.

So, of course I hit up my favorite spots. I scored some great finds - and even got these 3 pairs of clip-on vintage earrings (at less than $2 a pair!). I love how glam they are. It's funny because they actually make me think of my grandma because she only wears clip-ons as she has a fear of getting her ears pierced.

Anyway - enough babble.

Two Lovely Rooms

These two rooms are not necessarily my style, but I really, really like them. The colors are beautiful and rich. I love all the different layers of color and fabrics. I could stare at these two rooms for a while. Very intriguing. image via www.hgtv.com

Label Whores

Well, nothing says a label whore like a luxe Hermes Blanket. I am completely obsessed with my Hermes cuff I got a couple of summers ago, I think an Hermes blanket would be a great gift for me next. The baby blue and green one would be perfect in my bedroom! ;-)

Holiday Gift Idea

This is such an original gift idea. It's Table Topics and its a really cool deck of cards filled with great questions like: who is your favorite celebrity and why? What makes a person a success? If you could choose the name of your home street what would it be? This would be an awesome hostess gift, or for that person on your list that you have no clue what to get them! $25 at www.tabletopics.com

A Bad-&%$ Kids Room

Can you imagine being the little girl that gtrs to sleep and dream under this electric fuschia bed each night!? This is so fun and daring. I love how this feels like this bed came out of some French Castle and modernized with the bright color to bring it into the 21st century. Brilliant!!!

Words to live by..

I saw this and really liked it and thought I would share it with you!

From the Personal File....

Not sure where I found this picture but I absolutely love it. It's got the suzani printed ottoman (obvious sign I'd be in love) and the flokati rug, and right now... I am in a purple phase. This has a clean funky vibe. Very cool.

Christmas Trees are Getting Quite Original

Yesterday I was driving past a spot where they sell Christmas Trees and there were sooo many pretty white, gold, pink, black, and purple trees for sale. I couldn't believe it. You really can get creative with the decor of your tree. I really would love to have a Christmas tree of my own. Funny though, several years ago when I lived with my best friend, Christine, she got a Christmas tree for our place. It stayed in the house with us until Valentines Day. I wasn't thrilled. Hahaha!!

This one above is my favorite!!
