Plaid reminds me of flannels which makes me think of a few things: winter, blankets, LL Bean pajama pants and sleep-away camp.

I absolutely love infusing a touch of plaid into my interiors! In my son's room I have blackwatch plaid carpeting...so timeless and rich. Just last week I bought plaid placemats...I'll be doing a placemat post next week! Great post!
