What! What? What. With Amy of The Huntress Lives!

As I announced last week - I'm starting a new feature on my site to highlight my favorite people in the design world - bloggers, designers, fashionistas, artists, creative spirits (my mom will pop up in here too... LOL) just people that I find amazing!

So -- of course I had to ask my first blogging friend to help me kick this off - Amy from The Huntress Lives is absolutely fantastic - SO -- I asked her 10 questions, and here's how she answered it!  Amy also included a few pics from her own home and they are gorgeous!!

Also - check out her blog - its beautiful!  HERE or click on picture below.

1. What is your favorite spot in your home and why?

Oh that's a hard one...I would have to say my living room.  I love this room because it's the most formal room in my house and I love formal, which is not a good thing since I have a CRAZY two year old boy!!!  Some of my most favorite pieces are in my living room including two white bookcases I recently purchased on a trip to Hickory, NC, a Hermes scarf I had framed that hangs above my fireplace and two yellow leather chairs from my Great Grandmother.

2. What design trend have you always loved?

I have always had a thing for wallpaper even when it was not in vogue!  I think it's makes a space so dramatic and bold!  I did a pink Manuel Canovas in my powder room and just ADORE it!!!

3. What’s your best bargain purchase for your home?

I have a lot because I LOVE a good deal but I have gotten a few amazing deals for my dining room.  Two lamps from Homegoods for $39.99 and a GORGEOUS pagoda mirror at a garage sale for $100!!!!

4. What’s your favorite splurge?
I love really nice bedding, there's nothing better than a luxurious bed!!!

5. What do you do to spruce things up when you feel your home needs a little lift?

Flowers are a great way to spruce things up and add a pop of color!  I also like to move my accessories around to mix things up!

6. What is something you are craving? (It doesn’t have to be design related)

A piece of modern art, I love to mix antique and modern pieces and I am heavy on antique right now so I need a FAB abstract painting to shake things up a bit.  I am loving Nicole Cohen's pieces on Etsy her work is divine.  Store here

7. What is something on your “To Do” list that has yet to be accomplished?

There are SO many projects I need to finish the list goes on and on!  One thing that comes to mind is I need to spray paint my brown ballroom chairs white to match my tulip table in my family room.

8. What is something about your self that would surprise people?

Even though I come from a long line of foodies, Olive Garden in my secret guilty pleasure!

9. What is “Glam” to you?

When I hear the word "Glam" these words come to mind...

-Feminine
-Alluring
-Details
-Dripping in gold
-Luxurious
-Plush
-Pink
-Animal Prints
-Lacquer
-Chinoiserie

Amy - Thanks so much for participating and helping me kick off my new little series!!  Your home is amazing and happy!  It really is a special space.  Stay tuned for next week's What! What? What.

  2. Love that you're doing this Hallie! And to Amy...Olive Garden? Really? I really see you more as a Red Lobster kind of gal. :) xoxo

P.S. I also think you should add "vintage fur hats" to your Glam list....because you looked totally glam wearing that around Chicago!
