San Francisco - an inspiration

I am in San Francisco for the next few days and have been so inspired.

The bridges are fantastic and inspire me to think of modern, masculine, steel, Eames modern-vintage, straight lines, and industrial pieces. But then, you also have wine country - Napa and Sonoma with sprawling land, rolling hills, and rows and rows of vineyards. It makes me in the mood for shabby chic meets glam, flower baskets, louis XIV chairs, chesterfield sofas, beautiful pillows, etc.

Now - combine these 2 elements together, and I think you have the chic-est combination ever. Style and taste is about mixing all of the elements of the things you love, making them all coincide peacefully in the same setting. Just because your entire places screams for Rachel Ashwell doesn't mean you can't have the masculine touch there. It's about mixing, matching, and pulling it all together for the sole fact that you love it all together. Not because "it goes together."

  1. Hallie,
It was so much fun talking with you today. Our world just got a little bigger and a little smaller, both for the better. Hope you made the "stay" decision and had a good time!
