Bunny Williams' Designed A Brilliant Room!

I love this room! Let me re-phrase. I am obsessed with this room. Designed by the infamous, Bunny Williams for the 2009 Kips Bay Showhouse and featured in the August 2009 issue of House Beautiful. Williams as been interior designing for the past 30 years. Her style is classic, inviting, and very fresh. She has a design firm in New York and owns Treillage, a garden furniture and acccessories shop as well.

Here is my list of reasons for why this room is absolutely unreal!

1. The wall color - Turquoise! Vibrant, beautiful, and happy!

2. The egg chair - love that element of completely modern in a more traditional setting.

3. The gold accents -- look at that side table with the marble top.

4. The pair of artichoke art pieces on either side of the mantle. Childlike yet sophisticated, cheery! I also love how they are spot lighted.

5. The sisal rug - its brilliant how Artgroove hand painted it to look sleek and claim the area with the border. (Ugh! Sorry! The picture I have isn't showing the painted border!)

6. The crown molding!

7. The use of fresh and real plants/flowers. Very positive fen shui.
8. The combination of fabrics. Its such a risk, yet it all really works. And works well.

9. The suzani fabric neatly covering the back of the right sofa.

10. The coffee table being an ottoman. It added an element of casual, making it more approachable.
