1 Day and A Serious Make Over

A makeover in one day is seriously impressive.   Check out the One-Day challenge interior designers Pat Healing an Dan Barsanti took on for House Beautiful to make over the living room belonging to Cari Hynes, a homeowner in Westport, Connecticut.    

 Here (above) is what she started with - a narrow room with lots of windows, hardwood floors, and basic pieces. 

 After seeing this rug come down - I knew this space was going to be fanstastic.  I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A ROUND ONE OF THESE FOR MY DINING ROOM!!!!  Any suggestions of how to make one - and I'll love you for ever!! :-)

 Loving te layering already and the hits are chartreuse and purple coming through.  This room is going to have mad character. 

 Isn't the final outcome simply BANANAS!?  I think it really came out beautiful!   

If only I could complete a project in 1 day!

Just saw these images in House Beautiful.  Love the tradition and classic vibe of this bedroom,

But what I love even more is mixing in the fun dashes of poppy yellow.

The high-gloss yellow dresser is BANANAS!!

I love blue.  It's my absolute favorite color - and lately I've been really attracted to this electric hue.   It's got great energy and I'd love to add it in somewhere.

Jocking this rug

I just came across this rug over at Rugs Direct - and LOVES it!!  

I'd love to purchase the round option for my dining room.... 

I just have a little fear with purchasing a rug online.

And again... here is a pic of my dining chairs.  Part of me kind of wants to do a round flokati.... but I'm not so sure if flokati rugs are a good idea in a dining room.

What to do with a 600 sq. ft. space....

Who would have thought that a 600 square foot apartment could look, feel and actually be this spacious?!  The bright color and well thought out floor plan is really quite amazing.  It has clean lined furniture, and such a fun punch of color.

Olatz Schnabel mixes colors....

Well did you get your new issue of House Beautiful? i am liking this new Editor Chief.... anyway... that's off topic. Here was the bedroom feature on Olatz Schnabel and I thought she did such a cool job of mixing blue, purple, pink, red, white.... I feel like if I were to try this it would cheapin the room and look like a mish mash of crap. But here looks so dramatic perfect French.

Take a desk, a mirror, a chair, and a lamp to make perfection.

Take a gorgeous wood desk, add a beautiful mirror, a detailed lamp, and an exceptional accent chair and you get one amazing space. What a gorgeous wood desk, and I love the cloth wallpaper and the turquoise-cushioned gold chair. Image above via Veranda Magazine.

Another fantastic desk (those knobs are way cool). I love the mod vibe, and the lucite/acrylic chair and murano glass lamp. The image above really has a lovely fluid, water-like quality to it.

True Blue Baby I Love You

What beautifully upholstered chairs. And those blue hydrangeas are so happy. This is a very chic and pulled together look.

I'd love to have this set up, I'd invite over my favorite girlfriends for bloody mary's and yummy brunch! So charming!

A Beautiful Bedroom

I absolutely love this bed. But what really caught my eye in this bedroom was the double hung pictures on top of each other.

An Interesting Color Combo

This bedroom is from Martha Stewart and I thought it was so well put together, especially since the wall color is an interesting choice with the rest of the room, yet it all works so well.
