Chartreuse in the bedroom. Love it!

I am totally jocking the idea of this bright, strange, and intriguing color.

I think what makes interior design so wonderful are the unexpected surprises. 

And... here is the perfect example!

PS - I kinda dig that this bed doesn't have a duvet on it, but a simple, bright blanket.

Turquoise and Chartreuse Love!

Turquoise paired with Chartreuse is one of my favorite color combos (the other is grey/white/gold).

I absolutely love this happy living room. That gorgeous map completely dictates the gorgeous color combo.

TIP: Find a piece of art work, or anything you want to hang on the wall (fabric, wallpaper, wrapping paper, a map etc.) and use that to tell you your color story and build completely around that!

This room is amazzzzing.
1. Dark, charcoal and moody walls. (and I love how designer, Jan Showers matched the curtains to the walls).
2. Bargello pillows
3. Zebra hide rug
4. Gold coffee table

A way cool teen room!

This is such a cool teenager's room.  I usually don't post too many kids/teen rooms, but I thought this one was so well done!!  It's grown up but still youthful and fun!

My new pillows!!

FINALLY... I have committed to a color and pillows for my living room!! This is a big moment - as its only taken a year and three months... oh and over a dozen of ideas later!! I got 2 of them from the Trina Turk residential store last weekend (with a merchandise credit from pillows I returned about six months ago). The fabric is Schumacher and I heart them.

JA @ South End Urban Showhouse

Last week was The South End Urban Showhouse in Boston. Many, many hot names designers took part in designing stunning rooms. Here is Jonathan Adler's. His is a little typical of what he does - but its his look - and I do like it a lot. His bargello and needlepoint pillows always make me smile!

Of course - what is Jonathan Adler without a Jere sculpture?!

LOVE this whole look!!! I love the mix of chartreuse, turquoise, and navy. I have these colors in my place now, and when I have the balls to put em up on the blog - you shall see!!

Two totally different spaces serving the exact same purpose.... a spot to kick up your feet.... read magazines... blog... nap.... Well, and they both have dramatic white mirrors too and gorgeous wallpaper.

The person that owns this room must be one really creative and fun person. I just can't imagine a boring person sitting here and reading emails.

I am loving this table scape. I want it. This type of image makes my creative juices flow. So, as I have discussed previously, I am currently in the color layering phase of my living room. It's soooo hard, but this image is making me want to get out of my bedroom and head straight to my living room and play. I have decided to do jewel tone accents of raspberry, deep turquoise, citrines.... So, I swear one of these days I'll take a pic...

Ok, back to this:

1. Love the color combo of the the citrine/yellow/turquoise/white.

2. That parsons desk with the white cut out detailing is brilliant.

3. The layering and accessories on the table scape.

4. The art work , leaning. Love that.

5. The garden stool.

The Color Combo: Chartreuse and Turquoise

Chartreuse and Turquoise have been making quite a stir lately. The avocado-ish color was quite popular in the 60s, but received negative reviews later... I mean, remember those Avocado fridges and washing machines? Well, now it has been modernized and paired with the beautiful Turquoise and it is fresh, and happy. It's earthy meets pop!
