Lots of creative details make this space beautiful.

A sophisticated bedroom but still fun and cheery!! I love that.
The suzani throw on the bed is amazing and I love the wallpaper for the back drop.   It's got such a cool mix.

Absolutely love the color scheme too.

Chartreuse in the bedroom. Love it!

I am totally jocking the idea of this bright, strange, and intriguing color.
What do you think of such a punchy color for the bedroom?

From the personal file: Pale purples and greys make a dreamy bedroom suite.

I recently saw this bedroom/living area suite featured at House of Turquoise and I just can't stop looking at it.  I know many of you have already seen it, but I wanted to share it again.  This room is livable, very stylish, soothing and yet not over top. I love how the wood walls are slidable to make it one room, or two, and the color palette and the choice of fabrics is perfection.

Love it!

14 Days of Romance: Mirrored Beds: Day 2

Mirrored furniture has such a romantic feel to it... So, Obs!  Mirrored bedroom furniture would definitely scream for Valentines Day!

I am just in love with this room in general.  It's got mirror, draper, gorgeous lamp..... Good stuff.

BUT - my best advice I can give you --- PLEASE... As much fun as you may want to have (wink.... wink...) NEVER let wacky mirrored ceilings like below inspire you to start getting out the ladder!!

Brett Beldock designs an UNREAL Teen's bedroom!

I just found my newest design crush! Brett Beldock of Brett Design Inc.
(I am kind of shocked I hadn't heard of her before!)

Her style is whimsy, yet sophisticated, dramatic, but not in your face.  Beldock also has a line of wall coverings through Stark too.
So basically, she's got serious cred.

Anyway - check out this amazzzing teen's bedroom.  I totally would love this room for myself.
(Just swap in a larger sized bed and we'd be golden!)

What an amazing seating area too!

Love this lounge/chill spot.

Great idea to use vintage/mid-century glass bottles and wire to make into a desk lamp.  Very original without looking too crafty or cheese.

A beautiful work space in the bedroom.

Sometimes space doesn't permit a separate home office space.
Here is a beautiful, elegant, and fun way to make it work in your bedroom.
(Tip: Keep the papers and supplies in the drawers.)

Traditional with a punch

Just saw these images in House Beautiful.  Love the tradition and classic vibe of this bedroom,
But what I love even more is mixing in the fun dashes of poppy yellow.

The high-gloss yellow dresser is BANANAS!!

This room was designed by Gideon Mendelson.

From the personal file... Dream Bedroom Look.

I just saw this bedroom picture over at The Decorista and had to add this to "My personal file"

This is exactly what I want for my bedroom.... I have the headboard and white bedding, but I gotta work on the bedding and x-benches.

Teen Dream a lil' Dream

I recently received an email from Amber, a reader asking me what my opinion was for a teen's bedroom (girl).

I think its really important for this room to be transitional - especially since this will be the bedroom they return home to when visiting from college. But do keep it fun still, with a hint of whimsy! There is no need for this room to be serious quite yet!
I definitely like solid bedding with accent pillows (easy to switch out). Curtains (black out!) also are ideal. I would try to have chair, or lounging area in the there, and of course a desk for homework!
It's definitely a space you want them to enjoy, and will think is cool when friends come over too.

Hope this helps and good luck!!!

3 Upholstered Headboards, 3 Different Ways

I am a huge fan of the upholstered headboard.
So - check out these three stunners, all different spins on fabulousness!

I am really into kelly green and white.  Such a gorgeous combo. Obviously I am jocking that bamboo side table - but in general I love this preppy vibe with the matching kelly green bed skirt.
Chic + Happy + Prepster =  Loving it!

Love this bedroom from Lonny.  The printed headboard paired with the beautiful draperies and purple lamps is truly a stunner.  I loooove this whole look, its really put together well!

This bedroom was designed by Suzanne Kasler - chic, gorgeous, lovely, soft, dreamy!

An amazing kid room

I think the best children's bedrooms are those that
spark creativity and imagination.
This bedroom 100% does that while having so much style. Loves.

Mix in a lime and leather tufting

I think what makes interior design so wonderful are the unexpected surprises.
And... here is the perfect example!

PS - I kinda dig that this bed doesn't have a duvet on it, but a simple, bright blanket.

Go big or go home... Small Spaces

Small spaces can require a little bit of an extra thought process, but one thing many misconstrue is feeling that small spaces require small pieces of furniture.  That is not the case at all.

Here are 3 example of some gorgeous spaces that use large pieces of furniture, maximize the space without it looking cramped, have some serious amounts of style,
all while making it feel large and in charge!

Delightful Holiday Vibed Bedroom

I love the red and gold hues of this bedroom, especially during the holiday season.  It's got that rich warmth of for to keep toasty during the winter months.  This room was designed by Erinn Valencich of Omniarte.   I am a really big fan of hers!

A perfect example of mixing what you love!

I am a firm believer in mixing things up. See, we all have appreciations for different arenas of design (shabby chic.. meets hollywood regency... meets mid-century modern... meets minimalist.)

Here is a fab example of bold wallpaper prints paired with clean lined furniture, paired with romantic and soft pillows. If you love it, everything will blend perfectly!

From the personal file... Gold wallpaper delight!

It's no secret that I have a mega design crush on Massucco Warner Miller - Their talent is insane.  WMW and Tobi Fairley can team up any day and help me design my home.  So - of course, when coming across this divine bedroom - it had to be included in "My Personal File."

It's that dreamy!!
