Best Kept Secret.... and a little story!

I am not one to give all my sources... but for you Glam Readers.... I'll share this one...

So... today - I was on my way to Home Depot, and traffic was weird, so I started going alternate routes to get there.  When I noticed this random mid century-ish sofa sitting outside a store front.  So, I looked and noticed this could be a possible gem.  And of course - my intuition was dead on.  This shop had the most amazing vintage/mid century finds (and some random appliances - but forget that part)!  I grabbed a few pics for you, and a business card and went on my merry way!

So - if you are ever in the LA/Hollywood area - you gotta hit this spot up!

There's a pair of these.  They are even more amazing in person.
Everything in this store is in amazing condition.  There is no junk, and the prices are good for how amazing the stuff is!!

These lamps.... all I can say.  They are like art.
this picture is weird. the furniture is all stacked so these are all on top of each other.

I don't know if you have ever heard of Ten25, the e-shop and interior design firm, but if you haven't you gotta go check it out.  Abbe is the principle designer at Studio Ten25 and she's got talent.  Her designs feel professional, but they have that "I can touch and be comfortable feel" to it while staying super glamorous.

Then she has an amazing e-boutique filled with all different great pieces.  There really is something for everyone.  Please see below for my list of favorites!!  Check out her e-store HERE.

Website Crush

Yesterday while I was on the plane I was flipping through Real Simple magazine when I came across a home decor website that I wanted to check out. Modern Chic Home is fantastic and has such great products. They feel one-of-a-kind and not at all mass produced. This is a great source for small rugs, pillows and unique wall paper. These pillows are awesome. They are needlepoint pillows and options of major cities include: Paris, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York. What a great house warming gift for someone moving to a new city. $59.
Gold and white hand painted vases by Lazy Susan.

Beautiful embroidered pillows. Other color options and prints available.

Needlepoint pillows available also. Love!

Geometry jars. I love how these feel hand painted and one of a kind
Black and white small area rug.

Paisley double roll of wallpaper.
Darjeeng embroidered pillow.

Chinoiserie inspired wallpaper - double roll. I am in love with this. I wish my walk in closet was HUGE and I could wall paper it with this.

Double roll of wallpaper, available in other colors.

Trina Turk "Coachella" Rug $105
I WANT this zig zag rug $149 - wouldn't this be amazing as your kitchen rug. I want.

Las Tias in Miami!

My best friend told me about an amazing vintage, mid-century modern, Hollywood Regency-esque shop in the design district of Miami and of course, I had to stop in when I was in town. Its called Las Tias.

I wanted everything in there. Here are a few shot of the store - so, if you live in the Miami area, or South Florida area, go there immediately. The staff there is really friendly - and not annoying at all, like they give you your space and let you take it all in. I love that.

I fell in love with this coffee table.

As I collect milk glass, I was in awe of this display! Gorgeous!

Brocade Home..... I am on the fence.

Brocade Home. What do we think? Are we fans... or, no? I do appreciate some of its pieces, but I haven't seen any thing in person, only on the website and catalog. But then again, I do like the element of whimsy. So, you really can get that baroque, whimsical, dreamy touch from Brocade. Here are a few pieces I liked, let me know what you think!
Thought this credenza was pretty neat and special.
Great side table - could be good in a family/living room, or as bed side tables.

A beautiful and statement-piece.

I love this white bedding - this is something I would definitely consider for my own bedroom.

Would love to see these plates paired with a white set of dishes to add a punch to the table setting.

Good looking, baroque mirror. Super drama.

John Robshaw

I love John Robshaw. His textiles are beautiful. They have a worldly charm, and give the vibe of being a well traveled foot. He travels the world, being inspired in places such as India, Uzbekistan, and Africa. I was browsing thru his site this morning, and found some things I really liked and wanted to share with you.

Enjoy and let me know what your favorites are too! http://www.johnrobshaw.com/

Turquoise quilt. Would love this thrown over the edge of a bed. Especially if the bedding was all white - and added this punch of color.

The Sweetest Headboard

This is the sweetest twin size headboard I have ever seen. How amazing would this be against a bright orange, pink or turquoise wall? Then, imagine the happiest elephant garden stool sitting next to the bed, and gorgeous suzani pillows in happy colors.

It's at 45 Three -- 1051 1/2 Fairfax Avenue. Los Angeles, CA 323-932-0832

Vintage Colored Glass - A Neat Collection

In the 50's and 60's many companies designed beautiful glass pieces for home decor. These were decanters, perfume bottles, vases, compote dishes... You name it, they designed it in vibrant colors and interesting shapes. They were groovy and fun. They are having a huge come back and they are total chic. You can do a multiple array of all different colors - or stick to one color genre like turquoise or amber. It's a great accent and something you will have fun looking for!

The main guys are Blenko, Viking, Fenton, and Amberina. Those 4 are the best for google searches and will give you the most hits. You will also be able to find these pieces at flea markets and specialty vintage-modern boutiques. As I have suggested before, do try to make a trip to Palm Springs and visit my buddies at Dazzles and Bon Vivant. Their selection is unreal and they know there stuff. They can really teach you a thing or two.
