If I had an X-mas tree this would be THE ornament!

How Missoni is this?

If I had a Christmas tree it would be based all around this ornament.  Love the bargello feel to it.

Decorative Lamp Shades

Anthropologie has some gorgeous lampshades. Each one feels like a work of art. I think you could get really creative even, and paint or stitch your own lamp shade (just buy a cheapy one at Lamps Plus and let your creative side come out). I'll be honest - I don't know how good I would be at this - but if it comes about amazing - then there goes the feather in your cap!

Just Hanging Around

What a beautiful hanging chair. I don't know where in my home I would be able to have a hanging chair - but this one from Anthropologie is absolutely gorgeous with all of that detail (and looks kind of comfy too).

Gift Idea!

I have been eye-ing these Kaleidoscopic throw blankets at Anthropologie for quite some time and think they would be a fabulous holiday gift, especially if you are doing any traveling and need a great hostess gift. They are so chic and would look absolutely amazing on the arm of any sofa or the end of any bed. Ikat.

Anthropologie Hot Picks

You know I love a good "Hot Picks" blog entry. So, I've headed over to Anthropologie.com to pick some of my faves. Let me know what you think - or if you have some other favorites of theirs to share. I've seen this lamp in the store - and it's pretty stunning. The finial on top has gold flower detailing that match the base. It's so rich.
Kitschy, fun, cute!

This table cloth makes me want to have a fiesta with lots of cervesa!

These "latte bowls" are what I have in my kitchen (in white) and I love them. They are the perfect size.
Isn't this a great showstopper!
I have brackets from here that are gorgeous and similar to these that I had up in an old apartment that held up 3 glass shelves. I am still debating on where to put them in my new place. These brackets also are good for hanging plants.
I love their 'Fleur de lys" cups. I have very similar ones from Pier 1. I love how girly and feminine they are.

A Wonderful Gift from My Mom

My mom recently got me the most wonderful little gift while we were walking around Anthropologie. A Voluspa 3-wick candle in "Capri Fig Frangipani." It smells so delightful and clean and I love it. Its the perfect gift too, as it comes in a beautifully decorated tin with a lid. At $18 each, they are a wonderful little gift, from an amazing candle company with the perfect price tag! And, on top of that - it makes me think of my mom when I see it!

White Bedding with a Little Funk

I know this bedding has been around for a little while, but I was at Anthropologie yesterday and saw the Cirrus bedding collection in white, and fell in love. It has amazing ruching and great detailing. I especially love it because I am a true believer that anyone who has a dog (like myself) should have white bedding, since its easier to spot bleach/clean. Also, you can mix in different colored sheets or blankets underneath to give it a little kick. I guess I just constantly see plain white duvets with white euro-shams. So, this is a fresh twist on white! I dig it!

If you've seen any great twists on white - I'd love to see it!

The Color Combo: Chartreuse and Turquoise

Chartreuse and Turquoise have been making quite a stir lately. The avocado-ish color was quite popular in the 60s, but received negative reviews later... I mean, remember those Avocado fridges and washing machines? Well, now it has been modernized and paired with the beautiful Turquoise and it is fresh, and happy. It's earthy meets pop!

The white here is so great against the blues and greens. Very Summer.

Love this rug with the Kartell "Ghost" Chair!

Cute knobs.

Summer Serving Pieces

It's that time. Weekend bar-b-ques and get-together's are what summer is all about. So, for the most part I have found some inexpensive serving pieces (minus the 2 images from Horchow.) that you can enjoy and not worry about ruining when schlepping them to and from picnics, the beach, a friends house, etc. etc.

I, personally like mix and matching - not everything having to be a complete set. But do try to have your pieces coincide together. You can really have any theme you want - it can be an actual theme like - Nautical or Hawaiian. Or, it could be by color family - all turquoise and greens, or all Yellow and Hot Pink. It could be all the same patterns - polka dots or plaids. You can get really creative here because its stuff that should scream Summer. Cheery!

On-line, the best spots are Pier 1, Ikea, World Market, Target.... the big boxers... But you can always find original vintage (cheap finds) on Ebay and Etsy.

Check out these awesome pieces - some of them just scream for Summer Soirees!

Set of 4 place mats by Simrin at http://www.burkedecor.com/ - Burlap!

http://www.worldmarket.com/ - Summer chilled shot shooters. I don't think you can get more Summer time fun than this. Cheers! I'd do: 1/4 tequila and 3/4 margarita mix, or 1/4 vodka and 3/4 of your favorite juice. PS... These drinks require great music (this would be lots of the following: Sublime, Pepper, Bob Marley, a few Motown Hits, Rihanna and Justin Timberlake).

http://www.pier1.com/ These are awesome! They come in packs of four.

http://www.target.com/ -- I have this - it's pretty user friendly - as I have had it for a few months and already have used it several times, for chip and dips, veggies and dip, and then I also used the whole bowl to make a large salad and put the center bowl on the side for the dressing.

http://www.pier1.com/ This set also comes in red. Pretty fantastic and can be used year round for storage.

http://www.anthropologie.com/ Blowfish bowl. He is just too cute - and right now I am completely digging the whole avocado, 70's flashback color.
