LB Flea Market Report - a couple weeks late.

As many of you know - I love attending the Long Beach Flea Market.  I tend to ALWAYS find what I am looking for, or something better.  Well.... the November market was definitely a tad bit different.  It rained all weekend, so the grounds were puddled - and even though the sun was shining - the turn out of vendors and shoppers were pretty low too.  Christine came with me this time also looking for a chandelier.  Anyway - now that I am looking at the pics, there were a few cool things - but it was definitely not a successful trip.

All I know is hat the December market will be way better!
The jadite tea set were really pretty in person.

This chandelier was stunning in person.

Christine has these exact pictures in her living room that she got in Palm Springs.
Pretty funny that we saw them at the LB Flea.

This Platner chair was awesome.  Christine and I stared at it for a while, it totally needed a fresh coat  of paint and a seat cushion made.

These were beautiful in person.
This was a gorgeous koi fish pitcher, but the price was way too high. :(

Dainty powder room accessories

The trusting peacock chair.

Geodes are so popular right now.

You can never deny gold vintage bamboo

Talk to the hand cuz.... creepy or cool?

Part of me thinks... 'Wow, These hands are really cool, lets string fun cocktail rings all over them.' And then the other part of me thinks.... 'Wow - those are really, freakin' creepy!!'  They are showing up every where, flea markets, antique malls, and now your Urban Outfitters is supplying.   Its the new trend.

Are we following?

From Warehouse 1133 in Long Beach, CA
Fishs Eddy $4.95

Urban Outfitters $12
These are vintage glove molds that were found at the Long Beach Flea market  a few weeks back.

Long Beach Flea Market Round Up!

If you read my blog often, you will notice that every month (3rd Sunday) I attend the Long Beach Flea Market. It's my absolute FAVORITE and everytime I go - I find something absolutely amazing.  Honestly - Long Beach in general is just amazing for finding cool home decor.  This time around there was a lot of chinoiserie.

So... Please come along for the ride and I'll give you a quick tour!

These gold lamps I am actually kind of kicking myself that they didn't come home with me.  They are the chicest things I have ever seen.  Stupid.  I would have found an amazing spot for them.  Oh well.  Each time I go there is always that one thing... These lamps would be "it" for this go round.

Lets go with creepy... BUT creepy in a good way.  They were just expensive.  $50 each.  The dealer said they were antique glove molds.  I was thinking they were hands for Edward Scissorhands. JK.  Would be great for jewelry, or just a weird decorative statement.

I debated on these.  They were $10 for the pair of needlepoint vintage pictures.  I just had no clue where they would go.

Bar carts are so popular right now.  This one was way cool - but needed a thorough Brasso job.

How sweet is this.  If it were Spring, I'd debate this.  It would be kind of cool to spray paint this a wild color.

Flea markets are great places to find storage and organization stuff.  This was an African dealer selling beaded necklaces and baskets.  These would be great as a magazine holder, a toy basket for the dog stuff, recycling, a whatever you need bin.

A fabulous elephant garden stool.  I already have one, but if I didn't - this would be the one for me!  Love the all white clean look.

A gorgeous pair of accent chairs.  Spindle love.

Loved these.  They would be fantastic really shined up.

Well if you haven't opened up a design magazine in the past 4 years... then this is the obvious staple.  I love bamboo.  Its past trend now - its a classic.  Or has it always?

For the TV buffs - The Gray's Anatomy book.

Fabb.

A coat of paint a custom cushion would do wonders to this chair.
Hope you enjoyed!

Flea Market Find

Aren't these great? I got them at the Long Beach flea market last month and just loved them. They are vintage needle points - that I plan to have made into pillows. I love them.

Beautiful Rug - Flea Market Find

I was going through pictures I had uploaded a while back, and can't believe I never posted this image. This is from the Long Beach Flea Market. I would absolutely love to have a rug like this one. I have a khaki sofa with these beautiful dark wood feet that would sit so nicely on this rug. It's very boho. I dig it.

Colored Glass

My mom has the Villeroy & Boch "Boston" glasses (she actually has them in the amber/gold color - but I couldn't find a good image). So, today while I bummed around outside at a flea market, I couldn't help but notice all the sets of vintage colored glass serving pieces, goblets, and tumblers. They are all so beautiful they remind me of jewels. Image above is the "Boston" style from Villeroy & Boch.

These purple ones were my favorite, I can only imagine what the entire set looked like. Couldn't you imagine it paired with gorgeous white dishes with gold rims?
