From the personal file... Commune... Part 3

This will be my final post on Commune (for the time being!), and this home hit the "personal file" spot for me. It actually belongs to one of the founders of Commune, Alonso Romano - I LOVE his style and his ideas with home style. His home was featured in the most recent issue of House Beautiful and you can check out the article HERE.

Romano is an LA guy with a great passion for easy living. He loves Folksy" fabrics and pillows (hence I love that too!) and has a serious interest in mid-century furnishings. I am a huge fan of layering (I feel like I mention it in every post!) and he does an excellent job.

His living room is one of my favorite rooms of all time. I LOVE the floor cushions, the rug, and the over sized mid-cenury chair.

Combine Boho - chic - glamour with a beautiful collection and this is what you get for a mantle. It really is gorgeous and I love that rug and the pops of color through the fabrics against the neutrals.

Loving the Moroccan Style

This blog definitely shows my love for that boho glam vibe. So of course.... when coming across the fantastic website, From Morocco With Love, of course I had to share it with you. Absolutely darling Moroccon Wedding Blanket inspired pillows. Well priced too at $55 each.

Of course Moroccan wedding blankets are expensive... the top one is $750, and the one below is $550, but then again - it is so much hand work. Gorgeous.

Neat Floor Cushion

Saw this at World Market and thought it was such a great floor cushion/pouf. Its different from all of the leather ones I've been seeing - and the price is great - $39.99. Find it here.
Wouldn't this be great for a teen's bedroom? a dorm? a casual lay around room?

Boho Glam Eclectic Yummy-ness

I love kooky weird rooms where your eye is so stimulated by what a fantastic mixture of amazing pieces put together. These 2 rooms do that for me. I believe the first image is designed by Frank Roop (I could be wrong here). The sofa print is fantastic and I appreciate the layering of the rugs. I don't know if its my look.... but it works here. That huge circle lighting fixture is quite interesting. This room has a very casual come lay and relax on me feel. Love the floor cushion and pillow mixture.

An Eclectic Boho Bedroom

Ok... so I'm back at square one for the bedroom... I don't even have an idea of what I would want to do... But I do like the idea of this boho-glam-ethnic room with the happy colors, eclectic accessories, all while looking clean and put together. Intriguing...

AMAZING flea market find that I should not have passed up on.... but unfortunately kept walking. At least I got the picture. :) But isn't that just gorgeous?!

Boho - Glam - O - Rific!

I always imagine the person who owns a particular space. For this boho-chic living room, I think it belongs to an amazing couple that are well traveled, they probably have been on a safari in Kenya and they probably are activists for clean water through out third world countries.

Well, whoever they are -- they have gorgeous taste. I love the hot pink and purple combination on that striped sofa with the gorgeous cow hide rug.

Cool people must live in these rooms.

Right now I have a ton of pics saved on my computer of really cool rooms, that have amazing layering, texture... all with that bohemian vibe, livable yet really cool and interesting feel. I just imagine really creative people residing in these spaces.

This one above is from Lonny Magazine. I love the coffee table, the lucite chairs, the zebra benches, the bikini clad painting - it just all works!

The image above is from Metropolitan Home. The chair and flokati rug are amazing - but its that piece of art with that floral arrangement that caught my eye.

The image above is from Gorgeous Shiny Things, and I just love the color story here. That chair is awesome. I am not a huge fan of starbursts - but this one is pretty amazing.

Amethyst Lamp.

Last night I had dinner with my best friend on Abbot Kinney in Venice. We walked past the store Plantation LA to see two of these amethyst stunners chilling in the window. Both of us were in love! This image from their website doesn't even give it justice on how gorgeous and what a serious piece of art it is. $2,295 each.

Moroccan Poufs

That boho-glam/Moroccan vibe screams Spring time to me and I love that! I found an amazing resource for some Moroccan poufs and I am really considering grabbing 2 of them for my living room. As much as I love the John Derian leather poufs -- they really aren't in my budget....

Mixing and Matching - Done Right!!!

This seating area was designed by Palmer Weiss, and I love the Boho-casualness of the room, while still feeling rich and luxe. Ilove how this room has 2 fabrics that ompletely don't match yet come together so nicely.

I love the feel of this room - its got the boho-glam vibe that I am constantly after. It's not necessarily the colors I love, but its just a great inspiration starting off point.

Chinoiserie Lamps

I know these lamps are a bit weird, but I really, really like them. Funny is that I actually saw a lamp exactly like this pair at a thrift shop on Fairfax - but, it was $200 just for 1, and it needed to be re-wired and had a dreadful lamp shade, but I think these are just statement pieces.
