Realistic Foyers

I love walking into my home with everything in its place and organized.
For me - A foyer needs to function. Here's the criteria:
1. It's gotta look good.
2. It needs to look good while being a place to keep the things you need to walk out of the house (umbrella, keys, leash... whatever you need...)
3. It needs to be able to stay organized. It shouldn't need to be re-organized. It totally should work for you.

Tell me about yours! I'm working on mine - but pics to be up soon!

Need input - office/foyer? bad or good idea?

I am thinking about converting my foyer into an office.. but chic and clean.  I just want to do a clean, beautiful desk (or maybe go clean with a parsons) with an X-bench or some amazing seating option and a gorgeous lamp.  All I need is a better place to sit with my laptop so I don't strain my neck and back.  I want it to look like a foyer... so there won't be a cup with pens, or files on top...

Do any of you have a creative office space? My mother turned an elevator closet in her home into a darling computer room.... Lets discuss this idea!!!

The budget friendly option for a FAB mirror

Everyone has seen this foyer belonging to Liz Lange (and designed by Jonathan Adler).  Its been going around the blog world for ever, it feels like....
Many places did copies of this mirror - and I think one of the best ones was by Pier 1.  Well - the Pier 1 version (see below) is now on sale!
Pier 1 - peacock mirror $199.95 (original $249)

Honey, I'm Home.....!!

Well isn't this just a gorgeous way to enter your home.  This to me is stunning.  It also transitions very well each season.  You can just switch out the floral arrangement according to the season, and then lose the fur in the Spring and summer months and hang a bikini... a beach towel... whatever makes you smile.

Amazing Foyer

I would love to walk into this foyer every evening when I get home from work. I truly believe I would be able to forget about every single problem in the world upon entering! Gorgeous!

My Foyer

This would be Mr. Lincoln! He is so handsome!
I'm trying to get more pics of my apartment up. This is my entry way so far. But I feel like it needs something. Maybe a rug, or the accessories need to be moved around a little bit... I am not sure....
- I purchased the elephant garden stool and the mirror at my favorite vintage shop in Long Beach. They both are sooo heavy, I have no clue how I got it up the staircase!
- The table is from Pier One, but now that I look at the picture of the space, I really wish it were a parsons desk. But, this sofa table was $30 bucks, and for my budget, this seemed to be my best option.
- As for the accessories: The vase is from Z-Gallerie from about 4 years ago. Then, my good-luck-buddhas "Hear no evil, See no evil, Speak no evil" I got at an Antique Mall right outside of Long Beach - Ola's. They were $20 bucks for the set, and then 30% off. Such a deal, and I just adore these guys. Every time I look at them, I smile!

Anyway, Please do let me know if you have any suggestions. I'd love some input

This May Have A Lot Going On, But, I Like It!

This entry has a lot going on, I admit it may not be a bad thing to lose and element or two, but I really like it. I love the straight lines of the console table, paired with the bamboo chairs with the animal print inspired fabric. Then of course I love the gold guilded mirror surrounded by the white plates. Did you even notice that within those plates are urns sitting on sconce shelves. Lots for the eye to see, that's for sure. But... its all good. What do you think? Image via Cottage Living.

An Interesting Entry Way

Here is an entry way designed by Barrie Benson. It is so interesting, and I really like all the light that comes in. It is very inviting, intricate, but subtle. The furniture works well in the space. The door is also very interesting with the custom made colored glass shapes. I'd love to have an entry console like this for my own space.

This screams cool.

Ralph Lauren - Summer House Collection

I know a bunch of blogs are reporting on the Ralph Lauren Home - Summer House Collection, but I couldn't resist! It's beautiful, elegant, and timeless.

It is true to the Ralph Lauren, All-American feel, but it feels a little more cultured. It's as though Ralph and the gang went to Capri, then the Amalfi Coast, and then went over to Bali to kick it and then... before unpacking their bags at home - stopped in the office and built this gorgeous collection.

How insanely gorgeous is the coffee table. It's Chinois at its finest. So elegant. This table would look amazing in so many different settings.
Fantastic chair. Would love to see this paired with a sleek and clean parsons table (and ditch the hat boxes).

Beautiful!

So Summer-fresh-clean!

Beautiful Foyers

They say your foyer is a major importance in the home, as it is the welcoming of your guests. I have a small foyer in my apartment that I finally moved my elephant garden stool into with a small, gold colored sofa table. It looks great and pics to come soon. So, for a while I was constantly looking at entry ways.... Here are some of my favorites: Designed by Jonathan Adler for Liz Lange. This is one of my all-time favorites. I love the white hard wood floors, the owl, the chair, the sofa table... it all goes so well. What I love is that it looks like all of these pieces are favorites of the home owner and they all blend perfectly.

Designed by Varney. What a fun play on black and white.

Another Jonathan Adler. He sure does love the owl umbrella stands! Love this! Screaming Glam!

This entry way is stunning. It really is simple if you break down the room - the part that makes it truly original is the citrine painted wall. Imagine if the wall was painted white. There would be no zip to it. This is truly brilliant.
