Grandma Chic - and I love it!

"What is 'Grandma Chic'?" you ask.

It's a mixture of interesting swag lights, random-tongue-in-cheek wall art, bargello and needlepoint pillows, zippy wallpaper, and vintage/mid-century furniture finds all mashed up together - making a chic little mess.

And - I am totally feeling it.

Saarinen... You're getting around.

Saarinen -
I've been thinking a lot - and lately, you've been getting a lot of action. You've been around the block for years.... Decades!! I love you just the way youare, but once in a while I'd love to see a little bit of change in you....
Lets discuss the options.

Gorgeous!!

Sincerely,
Hallie

Mix Mix Mix it Up!

This is the perfect example of mixing different periods.  We've got a tulip base table, a swag lamp, and some divinely glam Louis chairs.

Lots to look at...

This living room is designed by Patrick Wade. I like this room, it gives you a lot to look at. Its just interesting. I like the different layering of sisal with the unmatching rugs layered on top. The straight and classic lined furniture with the tulip table. Then, keeping it all together... the neutral color scheme. I also like all the strange accessories, like that enormous old ladder and the placement of lots of plants and flowers. There's lots to look and I really like how interesting it is.

A Ruthie Somers Breakfast Room.

I don't know if I could actually do this for my own living space, but I saw this picture of the breakfast room designed by Ruthie Somers and it made me do a double take, so I knew it would be worth blogging about. It is a pretty interesting room with the black and white walls and the all different candy-colored chairs. The chairs itself are beautiful, and the colors are so happy. It just made me look and examine it a little more. My absolute favorite thing though about it is the chinios-bamboo style chandelier in high-gloss white. Now, that I love!
