Really like the use of scale and sizing in this room.  It's off beat and it works!  Image via Decorpad

Vintage Bamboo furniture is my weakness.

I have 4 weaknesses when it comes to design:
1. Gold/brass
2. Kooky ceramic animals
3. Campaign furniture
4. Vintage bamboo furniture.

Do you have any trend or style that you ALWAYS go back to?

Now how gorgeous is this chocolate, ivory and purple dining room???

And here are a two of my weaknesses in my own home:

1. This is one of my vintage Drexel dining room chairs.

2. Here is my vintage bamboo mirror (from an estate sale) with my campaign furniture.
(PS. The room has now been painted!)

Commune - part 2

Part 2 of Commune shows a more glammed project of theirs and  love the originality!

This living room is chic and perfect!  It feels grow up with out being stuffy!

3 gorgeous dining rooms have something in common:

And what do they have in common?
Gorgeous chairs and fantastic lighting.

So here's a budget tip: If you need to cut corners, don't focus on the table, get something clean and modern (Ikea would be a good source) and then splurge on your chairs.
Love the open space and clean lines all softened with that wide plank white hardwood floors and that glammed out chandelier.  Image via Decor Pad

Saarinen... You're getting around.

Saarinen -
I've been thinking a lot - and lately, you've been getting a lot of action. You've been around the block for years.... Decades!! I love you just the way youare, but once in a while I'd love to see a little bit of change in you....
Lets discuss the options.

Gorgeous!!

Sincerely,
Hallie

At restaurants I request a round table for a large group...

I love going out to dinner and being seated in a round table. It's intimate, you can see everyone, its perfect. For my next dining room, I'll really consider the round table.

What do you think?

Mixing modern with classic.

I think it looks kind of cool to mix modern pieces with vintage. It seems to make things a little bit more interesting. I read somewhere that if you do like a lot of vintage and antique styles its a good idea to do 30/70. 30% should be new and current, and then 70% can be vintage, or antiques.

So - I feel like the easiest way to do this mixing of styles would be in a dining room. Pick an antique style table and then do modern chairs (or vice-versa). Here are some ideas for the vintage-y table with modern seating.

So - you pick a table like these....

And then, choose a fun chair like these:

An Adler-ific Dining Room

If this dining room doesn't scream Spring Entertaining... I don't know what does.

February - Pink

I thought this was such a pretty dining room. The subtle hints of pink are so romantic and not at all overwhelming. Those lamps are amazing. And of the owner of the room is over the pink, just change the lamps and curtains and switch out the floral arrangement and its good to go!
