From the personal file...........

This room belonging to Ruthie Sommers has been a favorite of mine since it was published in Domino Magazine years ago. I love the mix of jewel tons with lucite and gold, whimsy, boho, and classic all rolled in to one! Love!

Vintage inspired bottles.

What a great copy of modern-vintage glass bottles. http://www.zgallerie.com/ If you aren't in the mood to search for the real thing, you can just go to the mall and pick up a couple of these! Easy!

A Very Cool Eclectic Room.

This room is really cool. I imagine that the person that lives here is very creative, beats to their own drum, and loves kooky things. I love all of the different layers and textures going on. I would love a pair of matching book shelves like these that frame the fire place (even though these shelves could use a few more accessories -- they seem a little bare to me).

From the Personal File...

I've been holding on to this image for a little while and I love it every time I look at it.
1. I love the glossy, turquoise painted dresser with those knobs.
2. That wicker-esque lamp with its awesome white paint job.
3. The peonies. Tell me a flower better than peonies?!
4. The dark walls.
5. It's just cool. There isn't that much to say, just straight up... cool. LOL.

Taxidermy that I like...

I am not a huge fan of taxidermy... I don't dislike it, Its just not really my thing. But, in this room, I really like it. It totally works. I do like that it is painted, it takes away from the real-ness of it. The room it self is gorgeous. The wall color with the purple is beautiful. And, I love the sconces, the interesting striped chair, and the casualness of the room.

Is this the hundredth blog post about these?!?!

Alright... I've decided on an genre of color for the chairs. We are getting somewhere, people!!! We are looking in the jewel tone family. Something solid and rich. I wonder how long the swatches will be sitting. LOL. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Or, if you know of an amazing jewel tone fabric - let me know!

All About Pink! Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

This room is designed by Eileen Boyd and it is truly glamour at its finest. This room is so balanced and symmetrical its amazing how you could almost fold this image in half!

Ruthie Sommer's Inspiration

I know we have all seen this image a thousand times.... but, I am thinking of finding a similar fabric to cover my high back pair of chairs... I know, I know.... I am so indecisive, but I have finally figured out the color issue in my living room and I am quite pleased. I have chosen jewel tones and its going to be stunning.
Here is the same pic I keep putting up of my high back chairs. I want them recovered in rasperry tones, and Ruthie's image above completely has inspired me.

Soft Spot for Ikat.... From the Personal File....

This image has been around for a while now, but I just had to post it because I love, love, love it! It has that boho-glam vibe that I am trying to achieve with my own place - and I just adore anything that has an ikat/Moroccan vibe to it. The side by side mirror tables are great too. I just think this space is perfect!

From the Personal File...

I have no clue where I found this picture to source it, but WOW! I am in love.
1. The color combination is sick.
2. That rug is so cool.
3. The vintage glass canisters are stunning.
4. That wall color and how it matches the sofa
5. The gold accents.
6. The glass lamp

I am just smitten by this glamorous room! Enjoy! (and if you know who designed it -- that would be awesome!)

Frank Roop Does Jewel Tones

I learned about Interior Designer, Frank Roop from Erin at House of Turquoise. He truly is genius! I especially love his use of jewel tones. He uses a neutral backdrop which really makes the colors pop. I love it!

This image above is my favorite. I love the use of nail heads in the console, and the turquoise color is insane! So drama, so glam!

Purple Passion

Saw this room and loved how bold and unique it was. It really mixes all different styles and I couldn't help but looking at all of the different elements. It's like none of it matches, that makes it all go together perfectly. I love the boldness!
