I completely appreciate a clean, white bathroom with clean accessories. It's classic, always feels fresh, and will always be in on point with style. But, it never hurts to add a punch. I absolutely love this ottoman. It's beautiful with its Moroccan pattern and bold black fabric yet adds a bold touch and is still extremely functional. I dig it!

A Functional and Brilliant Accessory for the Bathroom
I completely appreciate a clean, white bathroom with clean accessories. It's classic, always feels fresh, and will always be in on point with style. But, it never hurts to add a punch. I absolutely love this ottoman. It's beautiful with its Moroccan pattern and bold black fabric yet adds a bold touch and is still extremely functional. I dig it!
My Dream Closet

Can you imagine getting dressed here? I can. I can imagine opening the mirrored doors and pulling out the most beautiful dress, and then opening a different door to choose the shoes, under-pinnings, and accessories. It's as though getting dressed each day would be sort of like a spiritual experience! Oh to dream!
Soft Palettes for Lovely Bedrooms.
Growing up, my parents made a rule with me - there would be no arguing in my bedroom. If I got in trouble - we tried to keep it out my room - and into a more neutral zone. I liked this, it didn't taint the room. So, with that - your bedroom should be the place of serene rest and relaxation. No bill paying, or having a snack.
Here are a few rooms that have soft color palettes and a soothing vibe, gorgeous bedding, and wonderful details.
Enjoy!
Beautiful wallpaper, and lovely bedding.
I love, love, love this room. The bed is absolutely gorgeous. And same goes with that bench. My question is - where are the actual pillows that this person uses to sleep on!? Just kidding!

I am ALL About the Suzani
I can't stop blogging about ethnic fabrics and linens, and I truly am loving the Suzani. I've seen many Suzani's turned into pillows, or thrown on sofas or as bed linens - but here are some great pieces of furniture covered with Suzanis. They truly are "showstoppers!" and though they truly are trendy, I also think they are classic -- as they have so much history behind it.

Eileen Kathryn Boyd = Genius!
How insane is this room!?!? I love this room for many reasons, its just perfect. Interior Designer, Eileen Kathryn Boyd had a stunning room to work with from the get-go, but what she has done here is, made it magical.1. Those windows are too beautiful to cover - so instead, they have been accentuated even more with the stunning khaki and white fabric with yellow trim. It's genius.
2. The neutral color palette of the soft khaki with the pops of yellow
3. The stainless steel/metal vibe giving it a modern touch.
4. The straight lined furniture with the softness coming from lush fabrics, tufting, happy accessories, and the classic vibe from the French windows.
5. The large hanging lamp over. (You can find a similar at http://www.cb2.com/)
6. The small hit of pale-turquoise with the center pillow on the sofa, and the book on the side table.
7. The 2 small tables acting as a coffee table, making them move a

White Bedding with a Little Funk
I know this bedding has been around for a little while, but I was at Anthropologie yesterday and saw the Cirrus bedding collection in white, and fell in love. It has amazing ruching and great detailing. I especially love it because I am a true believer that anyone who has a dog (like myself) should have white bedding, since its easier to spot bleach/clean. Also, you can mix in different colored sheets or blankets underneath to give it a little kick. I guess I just constantly see plain white duvets with white euro-shams. So, this is a fresh twist on white! I dig it!If you've seen any great twists on white - I'd love to see it!

KWiD Designs Great Bars in So. Cal.
Tonight I had a drink at the Avalon Hotel. I can't believe it was my first time there and I literally live 5 blocks away!! It was a true Kelly Wearstler experience. Sleek and clean, yet not a detail missed. I have been to a couple of other boutique hotels that she has designed - and their bars always are great. And no, I don't have a drinking problem. Seriously.
So, here are some great shots (no pun intended) from some great hotels in my neck of the woods that she has designed!

Easy Wall Decor
Here's another great tip for the apartment dwellers, especially if your landlords don't want you to paint the walls. Frame a HUGE piece of beautiful fabric and hang it in a dominating part of the room. This will break up with white-ness of the wall, create depth and can assist in dictating the color palette of the room, as above. Here are some other fabric options I thought would be fantastic to do this with. Also, all fabric is from Calico Corners, because their prices per yard are budget friendly, and they have quality fabrics that are always on point with current trends.

Ralph Lauren - Summer House Collection
I know a bunch of blogs are reporting on the Ralph Lauren Home - Summer House Collection, but I couldn't resist! It's beautiful, elegant, and timeless.
It is true to the Ralph Lauren, All-American feel, but it feels a little more cultured. It's as though Ralph and the gang went to Capri, then the Amalfi Coast, and then went over to Bali to kick it and then... before unpacking their bags at home - stopped in the office and built this gorgeous collection.
How insanely gorgeous is the coffee table. It's Chinois at its finest. So elegant. This table would look amazing in so many different settings.

Make Your Own Personal Office
I loved this book shelf from House Eccentric. But - the more and more I look at it, the more I want to have a carpenter rip out the 2 bottom shelves and place a chair underneath. This would make a perfect mini office. I would have a gorgeous Louis XV chair for it, and the shelves would be filled with neatly stacked arrangements of inspirational books and magazines broken up by beautiful figurines.
(Xia Li Shelf via www.houseeccentric.com)
chairs like these would work.... or something with just as much character!

Interior Designer: Jamie Drake
Interior Designer, Jamie Drake is one of my absolute favorite, favorite, favorites! He has been around for quite sometime, always stirring the design pot, and he does it quite well. When it comes to mixing and putting multiple styles, colors, eras together.... J.D. is your man. He also always incorporates gorgeous art, and tends to pull colors from it, making that the inspiration for the entire color palette and feel of the room. I could call him a color design genius!
How gorgeous are those fabric walls. and the gold accents! Brilliant, charming - and comfy. I love how this room doesn't feel stuffy.

From the Personal File
So, here is another one. This is true "Hallie Style."
1. GOLD accents are my thing!!
2. The wheat stack sconces - ( I have a wheat stack coffee table, and some gold sconces that I adore!)
3. The mix of cultural elements: the Moroccan pouf, the French chaise, the Egyptian type head sculpture....
4. The hits of hot pink. (Hot pink is a whole new love for me!!!) I love how the book shelving has all been unified with the hot pink. It pretty much acts like a neutral.

Stone Flooring Collection - David Hicks by Ashley Hicks
Check this out. Ashley Hicks, son of the Late, Great, Infamous Interior Designer, David Hicks has teamed up with Studium (http://www.studiumnyc.com/) to do a stone collection re-interpreting his father's geometric patterns. Ther are nine patterns to choose from and they can be modified to your specifications. I would love to see one of these patterns made for a grand entry.Stunning!
An Easy Kitchen for Apartment Living
I thought this was a fantastic kitchen for the apartment set! Especially when you have to make do with your cabinetry and appliances. I love how the owner of this kitchen found a rug they loved and then chose wall paint, a chandelier, and accessories to color coordinate around.

A Happy and Cheery Bathroom
How fantastic is this bathroom? I love the color combination of the purple, yellow, and then the orange 70's vibe rug. I would have never thought to throw this combo together - and I think that's another reason why I am drawn to it - its not ordinary. As I do like to make adjustments - I would probably switch out the shabby chic mirror above the tub. This bathroom deserves "cheery glam!" I would love to see a great vintage poster framed in a great orange and purple tiled frame, or a fantastic piece of fabric in a fun and colorful print in a sleek, silver frame.

A Great Apartment Garden
For the apartment dweller, like myself, this set-up would be amazing! Its perfect for those that don't have land to still be able to grow and enjoy plants.
You can mix it up a bit too - by having a different style of pot. You could have all ceramic, or something with a pattern. Keep in mind though, to keep this look feeling unified - make sure that which ever planter you do choose, that they are all the same. If you don't want the pots to be exactly the same - try to have them be the same genre, so if they are all the same stripe pattern, but maybe a different shade, or all solids of different shades of blue (or any color you choose). You can be creative, just make sure its got a theme. (I would love to see all high-glossed white pots.)

Gabriella Crespi
Ahhhh, Gabriella Crespi furniture... Do I really need to say more? Well, to give you a bit of background, this Italian Architect wowed the Interior Design scene with her forward and innovative furniture designs in from the 60s thru the 80s. She mainly worked with brass, bamboo, ivory and plexiglass. Her pieces can be difficult to find as they are numbered, signed and quite the collectible. On top of that though - many of her pieces were custom ordered, making them even more special and rare.
Too cool. Love this piece.
