It would be so fun to warm up here.

Combine Boho - chic - glamour with a beautiful collection and this is what you get for a mantle. It really is gorgeous and I love that rug and the pops of color through the fabrics against the neutrals.

Talk to the hand cuz.... creepy or cool?

Part of me thinks... 'Wow, These hands are really cool, lets string fun cocktail rings all over them.' And then the other part of me thinks.... 'Wow - those are really, freakin' creepy!!'  They are showing up every where, flea markets, antique malls, and now your Urban Outfitters is supplying.   Its the new trend.

Are we following?

From Warehouse 1133 in Long Beach, CA
Fishs Eddy $4.95

Urban Outfitters $12
These are vintage glove molds that were found at the Long Beach Flea market  a few weeks back.

Oh my back! Oh my neck!

So --- I don't really get too personal here, so I am going to keep this as basic as possible. I blog in bed or on the sofa in my living room. It's really bad and I think its taking a toll on all different areas of my body.
I basically lay like this or on my back with my comfy pillow and my NAP blanket.
You do know that you are suppose to sit like this:

I'll be honest... I doubt I'll sit perfectly like this... but I think making a station of some sort would be a great start.

So -- now that we have discussed the issue... here are two images that are greatly inspiring me.   I want a clean desk - maybe even something with a drawer to keep my laptop in when I am not using it, the cord, and a few little extras.  When I am not sitting there, I don't want it to look like an office.

And now here are a few options that I am considering:
Home Decorators $199

Ikea Besta Burs desk $249

Ikea Micke desk $79

Overstock.com $185

West Elm Bond Desk $269
Walmart Parsons Desk $49
Ikea Linnarp $149
Target $99.99
Target delano $149
Any suggestions would be awesome!! :) And very much appreciated!

Pier One has a good sale....

I think Pier One is a fantastic budget friendly source for furnishings and accessories.  They have great serving pieces for entertaining, and their rug selection is pretty good too.  They are currently having a sale and here are a few if the great options (I already did a post about their peacock mirror).

Welcome!!

Well Guys....

It was time to do a little updating!  What do you think!?  Welcome to the new Glam Lamb site.  This is only the beginning for all of the changes that are in the works!!

So, let me re-introduce myself to you.  My name is Hallie - and I am a 20-something girl, living in a fabulous apartment in Los Angeles. I absolutely love designing my home, entertaining my friends,  and organizing.  I love flea markets and antique malls.   My personal style is relaxed-boho-glam meets scandinavian maximalism.  But what on earth does that mean?!  Well - stick with the Glam Lamb - and we'll figure it all out --- together!

My big inspirations come from Elle Decor,  Lonny, Kelly Wearstler, Tobi Fairley, Ina Garten, Eddie Ross, and the list goes on.... but I am budget conscious.  So, this site is all about mixing it up.  About taking your Madeleine Weinreb rug with your Schumacher pillows, and toning it down with a little bit of Ikea, World Market and flea market finds.

This is no crafty site - you won't be seeing weird art projects to make home decor.  Its bringing the Elle Decor look and making it attainable. We are going to organize! Set the table! Clean! Entertain! Spruce it up, and so so so much more!  It's going to be a fun ride!

Lots of love,
Hallie

Need input - office/foyer? bad or good idea?

I am thinking about converting my foyer into an office.. but chic and clean.  I just want to do a clean, beautiful desk (or maybe go clean with a parsons) with an X-bench or some amazing seating option and a gorgeous lamp.  All I need is a better place to sit with my laptop so I don't strain my neck and back.  I want it to look like a foyer... so there won't be a cup with pens, or files on top...

Do any of you have a creative office space? My mother turned an elevator closet in her home into a darling computer room.... Lets discuss this idea!!!

I love a happy ending

I think of rooms as stories.  For many of us - we move into homes and apartments that need updating, lots of paint and umph! Here is a living room - that is the quintessential vintage home (it looks like this could be LA -- my apartment had the exact same feel) It needs lots of paint, and fab furnishings, and a spectacular layout.  This home mixes high and low price points with vintage finds and I absolutely adore it!

Grabbed these pics over at Bazaar of Serendipity!

Isn't the redo just absolutely amazing!! I just love this entire look and wouldn't change a single thing!!  See... you gotta love a happy ending!

The budget friendly option for a FAB mirror

Everyone has seen this foyer belonging to Liz Lange (and designed by Jonathan Adler).  Its been going around the blog world for ever, it feels like....
Many places did copies of this mirror - and I think one of the best ones was by Pier 1.  Well - the Pier 1 version (see below) is now on sale!
Pier 1 - peacock mirror $199.95 (original $249)

Tip: Keep your cosmetics up to date!

Beauty products do have a shelf life** that isn't always stated directly on the packaging.  To help you out - put a sticker with the date written on it of when the product was first opened.
If it starts getting gunky looking, you will know if its time to buy a new one.

**FYI - Expired beauty products can leave to nasty bacterias, infections, and breakouts.

Oh Hanukkah! Oh Hanukkah! Come light the Menorah!

Hanukkah is less than a month away (December 1-9) and for my Jewish readers... you know what that means -- its time to get organized!

- Get out the Menorah (Hanukkiah)
- Purchase fresh candles
- Pick up dreidles
- Gather up your potato latke recipes
- Pick up Chocolate gelt coins

So - in prep for the season - here are some gorgeous Menorahs to get everyone inspired.
