Let's Play Dress Up!

I love costume jewelry. Ya know, chunky rings and big stones. So of course I love Kenneth Jay Lane's collection. Here are my 3 favorite pieces from his Fall 09 collection at Shopbop. www.shopbop.com

A Beautiful and Serene Bedroom

This bedroom was designed by Shamir Shaw and it is so relaxing. There isn't much fuss to it, but it isn't sparse. It's comfortable and the color palette is very soothing. I love the organic inspired mirror above the headboard. It breaks up the symmetry. Lovely head board too!

Black and White with a Splash of Hot Pink

I saw this bathroom and thought it was just so cute and happy! It's fun yet sophisticated. That wallpaper is such a great pairing with the white molded tub and the black granite counter tops.

I REALLY LOVE this SCARF

How cool is this scarf?? I have never seen anything like it before and it totally jazzes up one of my favorite every day staples - the basic wife beater tank top!! I need this. By: Deepa Gurnani at www.shopbop.com

This May Have A Lot Going On, But, I Like It!

This entry has a lot going on, I admit it may not be a bad thing to lose and element or two, but I really like it. I love the straight lines of the console table, paired with the bamboo chairs with the animal print inspired fabric. Then of course I love the gold guilded mirror surrounded by the white plates. Did you even notice that within those plates are urns sitting on sconce shelves. Lots for the eye to see, that's for sure. But... its all good. What do you think? Image via Cottage Living.

Loving This Look

Love this outfit! It's still warm in LA, yet its pretty much October... I think this is perfect attire for the warm Autumn days. Jacket is by Elizabeth & James at www.shopbop.com

Coordinated Bookshelves

I really like when bookshelves are properly coordinated and thought out. More than it just being a place of storage - it really is a place of display. Here are a few examples that I absolutely loved: I just loved these actual brass book cases. They are very cool.
Loved the painted back of the case, and even though this is a more casual setting, its still clean and well placed. Image via MarthaStewart.com

I love how the blocks of yellow really break up the neutrals and white pieces. Brilliant! Image via Elle Decor

Congratulations Paulie!

One of my favorite people in the whole world had a sweet little baby last night, and her name is Lily Rose!! Congratulations, Paulie! I can't wait to meet the little rock star!! Miss you!!

Love THIS Fabric!

I am dying for this fabric! I would love to either cover my two high back accent chairs from my living room (that have yet to be covered in the past 5 months of owning them since I can't make a decision) or.... cover my dining chairs with them. Aren't these chairs amazing?

Obviously these chairs are in desperate need of reupholstering. It's my issue on commitment and color that is making me crazy! I have a stunning turquoise beaded swag lamp, in my dining room, and I think this fabric would be an amazing accent for it.

Nailhead Storage Cubes

I just came across these nail head storage cubes at Horchow and they are absolutely amazing! Now, they are a little pricey, at $499 for the pair, but they really are multi-purpose pieces, and would be great for storing an extra blanket, or kids toys in your family room, or whatever you need to stow in a glamorously-chic way. OR better yet -- Make 'em yourself!

Soft Spot for Ikat.... From the Personal File....

This image has been around for a while now, but I just had to post it because I love, love, love it! It has that boho-glam vibe that I am trying to achieve with my own place - and I just adore anything that has an ikat/Moroccan vibe to it. The side by side mirror tables are great too. I just think this space is perfect!

Beautiful Dining Chairs

I saw this image at Shoebox Decor and fell in love with the chairs. But now that I really take a better peak I am just loving the whole set up! Stunning

From the Personal File....

I've never shown a kitchen before from my personal file... This is the kitchen belonging to Aerin Lauder, heir of the Estee Lauder fortune. This girl has such sick style, I do have more images from her homes - so they will be posted soon.
1. I love how clean this kitchen is WITHOUT it being stark. I think that can be hard to execute sometimes.
2. The accessories are fantastic - from the collection of white pitchers, to the big vase of green florals, to artwork leaning against the backsplash.
3. The center island is grand but not over the top and those chairs are special.
4. Love the hardwood floors.
5. The lighting choices are great with the pendants. It's old school/retro but without the kitsch.

Bravo!!!

Great Site: IOMOI

I have found the most wonderful website for great stationary and desk accessories and small home details at Iomoi. Not only is it a great spot for address labels and memo pads, but they also have some fantastic hostess gifts. The next gift I need to buy will definitely be from here. http://www.iomoi.com/ Above is their memo pad with acrylic container. There are multiple patterns.
Lucite Boxes.

A very cool tape dispenser. So chinois!

Fun gift! Match boxes come in other patterns as well

Heavy cardboard coasters (set of 25 - refills available) with acrylic box $25.

From the Personal File....

Here's another gorgeous bedroom that I absolutely love!
1. I am loving those dark, rich walls, making a stunning backdrop for the creamy-white floor and the turquoise bedding and headboard.
2. Love the symmetry and balance of the room. The matching end tables, with matching turquoise lamps, backed with the matching mirrors - brilliant!
3. The faux-fur throw at the foot of the bed - so luxe!
4. That dramatic headboard, I love the shape and color, and how the bedskirt matches it.
Looks pretty great!!

Ballard's Elephant Garden Stool

I know these are everywhere now.... But I just loved this exact one that I had to post it. This Elephant Garden Seat is from Ballard and priced at $149.00. He looks so grand and happy. And it is so detailed and the size of it looks good. I already have an elephant and I just love him!

(My elephant! He is the first thing you see when you walk in!)

From the Personal File...

Here is yet another stunner to put in "My Personal File." The walls and side chair are covered in the infamous F. Schumacher/Kelly Wearstler "Imperial Trellis" and the rest of the room are covered with the same neutrals set in that fabric. I know this is weird, but one of my favorite things about the room is the fitted table skirt with pleats. It looks so clean.

The New Elle Decor Coffee Table Book

As everyone knows, Elle Decor is a fantastic magazine. I have just learned that they have a new coffee table book that has just hit stores. This will definitely be my next book purchase. If you have seen it or already made the purchase - I'd love to hear what you think!

I Want A Parson's Desk

I love Parson's tables. Especially for an entry way piece. I do like what I currently have in my foyer, its a gold table with neat animal paw feet. But, I always wish that I could have a clean-lined Parsons desk instead. interior designer: Mark Lund

www.walmart.com $49.99 - if anyone knows anything about this table, please do let me know what the quality of it is... I mean, it is Wal-Mart and it is less than fifty bucks - so the odds are against it. But its super clean looking.... Hmmm....

From the Personal File...

I have no clue where I found this picture to source it, but WOW! I am in love.
1. The color combination is sick.
2. That rug is so cool.
3. The vintage glass canisters are stunning.
4. That wall color and how it matches the sofa
5. The gold accents.
6. The glass lamp

I am just smitten by this glamorous room! Enjoy! (and if you know who designed it -- that would be awesome!)

A Gorgeous Vanity

This vanity was featured in Traditional Homes Magazine. How gorgeous is this? Love it!

From the Personal File...

Isn't this room so fun? I just think its gorgeous and feminine and vibrant! This room was designed by David Jimenez. He is always so good with color.
1. I love the color combination of orange and turquoise. The rug is awesome and it really makes that turquoise leather chair - pop.
2. The painting over the bed, is just gorgeous.
3. I love the use of the sea-cloth for the walls. It adds that organic element to it.
4. I am crazy about the Morano lamp, its so feminine and the mirror behind it makes it shine and glisten even more.
5. The bedding. Love the hotel collection sheets with the pale turquoise bordering, and the fun yellow damask pillow for another point of interest.

If I Could Only Choose One Store to Shop At....

If money were no object and I could only pick one store to shop at, I'd fly to Atlanta and go to the fantastically dreamy - Pieces. I'd pick rich antiques, stunning mid-century modern and vintage finds for my home that were gorgeous and and fun and made you smile each time you looked at them.

My selection would include chinoiserie finds mixed with French Louis XIV chairs with bamboo and rattan. I'd add pops of color and whimsical chandeliers and accent pieces.

Owner, Lee Kleinhelter is probably the coolest chick in the whole world with a sense of style up there with Wearstler, so of course, every piece is amazing. Definitely check out her website - http://www.piecesinc.com/ You will just love her taste. Here is what I'd be filling my truck up with:

Would love this chandelier in a breakfast nook.

Would love to have these on either side of my bed. They are just stunning. This is exactly what I would want.

I would love to have this little bench in my bathroom. It's darling. It's actually painted metal. Pretty cool. I would have never thought to have painted a metal piece before.
